The Hawai'i State Department of Education ("HIDOE") has reviewed and revised Hawai'i Administrative Rule Chapter 19, "Student Misconduct, Discipline, School Searches, and Seizures, Reporting Offenses, Police Interviews and Arrests, Restitution for Vandalism, and Complaint Procedure and Investigation of Discrimination, Harassment (including Sexual Harassment), Bullying and/or Retaliation" and drafted a new Hawai'i Administrative Rule, Chapter 89, titled "Civil Rights Policy and Complaint Procedure for Student(s) Complaints Against Adult(s)" to replace Chapter 41.

Now that the proposed administrative rules have been drafted, HIDOE is seeking to review them with the community. To that end, please RSVP by Friday, October 26 to join HIDOE for a group discussion alongside other community advocates and parents during the following sessions.
