Many Pandemics: Caste Violence during COVID-19
Please join us for the discussion 'Many Pandemics: Caste Violence during COVID-19' on 4 March, 2021 at 5:00 PM IST.

As India went into a nationwide lockdown to fight the coronavirus pandemic, caste animosity continued its rampage and destroyed the lives of thousands of Dalit persons across the country. In this panel discussion, speakers will deconstruct the psycho-social and legal dynamics that perpetuated caste crimes during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, using sixty cases of caste violence presented in the book ‘No Lockdown on Caste Atrocities: Stories of Caste Crimes during the COVID-19 pandemic’. This book has been produced by Dalit Human Rights Defenders Network (DHRDNet) and released in collaboration with Zubaan Publishers.

The panel discussion will be followed by the launch of the book after which it will be made available on DHRDNet’s and Zubaan Publishers' website, to download at no cost.
