Next Standard Year Leaked?
An update on the official Hearthstone website displayed a Standard icon we haven’t seen yet. The icon has since been fixed to display the Year of the Dragon icon. The icon resembles a beaked creature with a long neck surrounded by flames.

Tirion is out! (tomorrow)
CM Kurt Ocher let players know that a small patch is hitting Thursday this week that will be removing Tirion from the Hero pool and adding Queen Wagtoggle back in.
Official Notes (not much beyond the Hero shakeup)
- Removing Tirion Fordring from the Hero pool.
- Adding Queen Wagtoggle back into the Hero pool.
Additionally, the ongoing Android issues which resulted from the 16.4 update should now be resolved.

Tier Changes
Hearthstone Game Designer Puffin confirmed that there are more copies of Tier 6 minions in the pool after the launch of the Dragons patch.
“The numbers got slightly adjusted with the Dragons update to keep the ratios similar and increase appearance of Tier 6 minions. (-2 in Tier 1, +1 in Tier 6)”

Iksar on the Future of Battlegrounds & Progression System
HearthPwn shared one small nugget from their interview with Iksar at the Summit:
- Iksar considers Battlegrounds still very much in beta.
- “Battlegrounds probably launched before it really had that final level of polish.”
- They’d like to add a progression system. But there are other features they want to hit first.
- 8 player lobbies being the big one.
- “so you can queue up with your friends, but also for organizers outside of Blizzard to also make their own tournaments and broadcast those for people to watch. So that’s really the first feature.”
- They want to nail the content pipeline
- Iksar thinks the Dragons patch was 75% to 85% what they would want a big BG update to be.
- Expect big content updates around expansions.
- “every 3 to 4 months”
- In between major updates will be things like Hero balance and “tons” of card changes.
