This year’s SUS Fencing Beginners Championships are being hosted by Strathclyde University on the 4th & 5th February. To be entitled to fence in this event you must have a valid British Fencing licence. Licences can be bought online at the following link
www.britishfencing.com/membership/ When purchasing your licence from BFA please ensure you select Scotland/Scottish Fencing as the organisation under which you are affiliating. If you do not have a valid, in date licence on the day of the event you will not be allowed to fence.
Licences will NOT be available on the day. Only individuals who have been fencing for less than 2 years in total (regardless of weapon) will be permitted to fence in the event.

Equipment Regulations:
Must conform to BFA equipment regulations, which can be found at
www.britishfencing.com/governance/guidelines/safety-guidelines/ This includes 800N underplastrons as mandatory equipment for all participants. Jackets and Breeches must be a minimum of 350N and CEN labels must be clearly displayed.
Competitors must have fenced for less than 2 years
Entry Fees:
£12 for one weapon, £16 for two weapons
(please note it is possible to enter foil and epee or foil and sabre but not epee and sabre)
Cheques made payable to Scottish Universities Sport.
CLOSING DATE 1st FEBRUARY 2012 – NO LATE ENTRIES
Competitors may not enter if they have won the event previous in the same weapon.
Competitors may not enter if they have medalled at the SSS Individuals.
Competitors may not enter if they have medalled at any Open competitions unless there were less than 8 entrants in the discipline of the event.

I consent to my image being taken and accept that it may be used by SSS for publicity purposes. I will make SSS aware of any issues that would be contrary to this prior to the competition weekend. SSS will endeavour to accommodate your wishes.
